Club Nights For 2005 / 2006
Music Station brings
singers, songwriters, musicians, poets, writers and audiences together in
exciting new ways. It is music for the people, by
the people and from the people. To
do this it holds one ‘BIG GIG’ each
month and one Club Night each month.
The BIG GIG will be a performer of renown, among our recent gigs have been Johnsmith,
Errol Walsh,
Brian Houston, Richard Gilpin, Redbird, Bob Cheevers, Henry McCullough,
Chuck Brodsky, Kevin Doherty, Jeff Lang, Stewart Agnew, Duke Special,
Little Hooks, Peter Mulvey, Jeffrey Foucault, Chris Smither, Eliza
Gilkyson and Michael Fracasso.
We want BIG GIG to encourage and inspire the fine array of local talent to
create, rehearse and perform. They
will then have a chance to show what they can do at the Club Nights.
The
founding members of Music Station include Doc Doherty, Wendy McGrotty, Karen Young and
Delwyn Millican and they have since been joined by Alan Hunter and Stephen
Donaghy. They said, ‘we
want to build on the high level of interest in live music that we know is
in the area. There are many
fine players here and more people wanting to hear them.
We believe that by bringing them together with inspirational
performers we can build on this interest to make the area one that is renowned
for home grown, high quality, live
music.’
Music Station is open to
anyone in the triangle area who is interested in music, poetry and writing
either as a composer, writer, performer or as a member of the audience. To become a member or to obtain information on our gigs or meetings,

on 07751050773 or Wendy on 07788582076 or email Wendy at wendy@portstewartgc.co.uk.
